Story
An emotional tale, the story begins with Lovely Singh (salman) who is assigned the task of guarding Divya (kareena), daughter of a rich business tycoon Sartaj Rana (raj babbar). Lovely takes up his job rather too seriously and keeps an eagle eye over Divya. His over protection irks Divya and she decides to keep him at bay with a plan. She traps him in a fake love affair with an anonymous admirer concept. Lovely doesn't give in but eventually breaks. While Divya is happy that she can lead a carefree life, the story takes a turn when she discovers few things about Lovely. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.
Presentation
The director has come up with a sensible storyline and while the presentation was classy, the narrative was touching. The dialogues were good at all places and were enjoyable, the script was above average while the screenplay was impressive. Background score was strong and songs were well tuned. Cinematography was the highlight. Editing was crisp. Costumes were well designed while the art department was suiting the moods. Salman Khan steals the show completely with his portrayal and he fulfills his fans and the family audience with his act. Kareena was equally competent and she fills the emotional and glamour quotient. Raj Babbar was sophisticated. Aditya Pancholi was the best among the lot. Rajat Rawail was hilarious. Hazel made her presence felt. The others did their bit as required and added value.
Conclusion
The film is the remake of the Malayalam super hit Bodyguard. More than a regular masala entertainer, the director ensured that a completely different form of Salman is seen. There is maturity in the story along with the required humour and entertainment. While the first half goes in a predictable manner with the elements of comedy, songs and dance, it is the second half that gets serious and strikes the audience. The best is saved for the last as the climax scenes shoot a thunderbolt. An unexpected twist occurs. At the box office, the film has it all to score a hit and appeal to all classes of audience.
DownloadsMasti Verdict: Perfect, emotional and clean, don't miss it!!
