Story:
Set on the backdrop of Goa, the film is about an erstwhile great magician Ethan Mascarenhas (hrithik) who is currently living a life of quadriplegic due to a fatal accident that makes him immobile. He is well taken care of by his nurse Sophia (aishwarya) and has got a good friend in the form of his lawyer Devjani Dutta (shernaz). The story takes a turn when Ethan decides to file a petition in the court and this is about Euthanasia. As expected, the legal system denies his petition at the start but Ethan decides to fight for his right to end his life. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has come up with a touching storyline and though the presentation was fabulous, the narrative could have been better. The dialogues were sharp, the script was tight and the screenplay was good at places. Background score was soothing and two songs are worth taking home. Cinematography is the main strength for this film, it was really a treat for the eyes. Editing was crisp and there were not many idle moments. Costumes were apt, the art department was a major highlight and the attention to detail was very good. Hrithik came up with an exceptional performance and he shoulders the role very well, Aishwarya has got a subdued role but then she delivers her best. Shernaz was superb, Aditya Roy was energetic and did his bit as required, Rajat was riveting, Nafisa was natural, Monikongana came and went, Suhel was nice. The others contributed in their own way.

Conclusion:
Though the film deals with a person suffering from a physical challenge, more than his appearance, it is the message being conveyed the film maker. The right to live and right to die is two fundamental things that a human being should be entitled to. This has been crafted in a artistic manner and while the first half goes a bit mild, it is the second half that has many gripping and emotional moments. Overall, this is a film which is deep in emotional level and presentation level but slightly weak in content. At the box office, this is more of a select group of audience treat and not a commercial fare.

DownloadsMasti verdict : Emotional and matured, not for mass or fun seeking viewers
