Story
A whacky tale, the story begins with Tabrez Khan (akshay) who is a professional thief and he shows no qualms in conning people and that too without any hesitation. He is supported by three accomplices Soda, Dollar, Burger and together, the gang keeps the cops on their heels at all times. The story takes a turn when the Johri brothers give an assignment to Tabrez. They want him to steal antiques worth Rs 500 crores which are being taken in a train. Tabrez takes the offer and this time, he also has his girlfriend Anya (katrina) who is an aspiring actress along with Atish Kapoor (akshaye khanna) whose target is getting an Oscar award. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.
Presentation
The director has come up with a illogical storyline but then the presentation was rich while the narrative was moderate. The dialogues were entertaining, the script was well written though it had few loopholes. The screenplay was alright. Background score was catchy and three songs were wonderful. Cinematography was excellent and mesmerizing. Editing was required badly during the second half. Costumes were trendy and stylish while the art department made its presence felt in a big way. Akshay Kumar steals the show as usual with his performance and he gives a spirit to his character and screen presence. Katrina was stunningly beautiful and sexy, this is perhaps one of the hottest avatar of hers. Akshaye Khanna was a show stealer. Arya Babbar was impressive, Raghu Ram was regular, Rajiv Laxman was good, Sachin Khedekar was standard, Salman Khan and Anil Kapoor gave that extra punch, Vijay Patkar was okay. The others did their bit as required and added value.
Conclusion
First things first, this is a film which has no common sense or logic. So, it is an enjoyable treat for those who believe in having two plus hours of time pass entertainment and some visual feast with masala comedy. While the first half is brilliant and raises the expectations in a big way, the graph falls down in a significant manner during the second half. Performances, comedy, star power has given a strong ammunition for the film to open strongly at the box office but if only the second half was fine tuned, the film would have been a definite blockbuster. For now, it could do with an above average rating.
