Story:
A gripping tale, the story begins with Mangala (charmy), a successful actress in film industry. She has a crazy fan (Vijay sai) whose father (pradeep rawath) is a powerful black magician. When the fan comes to the city to meet Mangala, an incident occurs and Mangala misunderstands the fan tried to misbehave with her. The fan gets bashed and hurt by this, he attempts suicide and lands in hospital. Before his death, he wants to see Mangala but despite his father's requests, Mangala doesn't respond as she is busy with her shooting. The black magician is enraged and he casts a deadly spell on Mangala. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has come up with a thoughtful storyline and while the presentation was good, the narrative was the problem. The dialogues were slippery, the script was hollow at key points but the screenplay was tight. Background score was the major highlight but songs were unnecessary and not upto the mark. Cinematography is catchy. Editing was alright. Costumes were suiting the situations while the art department was realistic. Charmee comes up with a riveting performance and proves that she is the right mix of talent and immense sex appeal. Pradeep Rawath was haunting and makes his presence felt strongly. Vijay Sai was apt, Subhash was good. Uttej and Saptagiri generate few smiles, Chitram Seenu was apt, the others did their bit as required.

Conclusion:
The film was gossiped to be a step higher than the successful 'Mantra' film and this time, a different element was included. While the first half goes off breezily and creates the right kind of fear, it is the second half which falls down in a spiral and takes away the juice. The drag in the climax is another setback. The focus was more on trying to shock the audience than on the content and how it must be executed. The technical values were good but at the box office, it might take the film to a safe zone, nothing more.

DownloadsMasti Verdict: Good start, not so good end
