In a city in California, the skateboarders Shawn, Claude and Tate and Peaches are friends of the suicidal teenager Ken Park. Shawn has intercourse with his girlfriend and her mother. Claude has an abusive, violent and alcoholic father and a neglectful and passive pregnant mother. Tate is addicted to masturbation and hates his grandparents who raise him due to the lack of privacy in his own room. Peaches practices kinky sex and has a fanatical religious father who misses his wife.
Very graphic, the film is crammed with nudity, real sex. I think no movie has shown as many penises on the screen except a porn. It's the dissection of an ordinary neighborhood's life through the lives of teenagers tangled in sex and problems with their entourage. The final scene gives, like it ought do, to the movie its whole meaning: the futile and fugitive character of life, hence the hedonism and the epicureanism of the film's characters.
